States. Through its subsidiaries, Xcel
Energy is engaged in the generation, transmission, purchase, distribution and
sale of electricity. The company is also involved in the purchase,
transportation, distribution and sale of natural gas. The Company's regulated
wholly owned utility subsidiaries include Northern States Power Co., Public
Service Company of Colorado
and Southwestern Public Service Co.. These utility subsidiaries serve
electric and natural gas customers in portions of Colorado,
Kansas, North Dakota,
South Dakota, Minnesota,
Michigan, New Mexico,
Oklahoma, Texas
and Wisconsin.
Along with WestGas Interstate, Inc., an interstate natural gas pipeline
company, these subsidiaries make up Xcel Energy's regulated utility
operations. Xcel Energy has a non-regulated subsidiary-- Eloigne Co.
