Werner Enterprises, Inc. WERN Werner Enterprises,
Inc. is a transportation and logistics company engaged mainly in hauling
truckload shipments of general commodities in both interstate and intrastate
commerce. Werner also provides logistics services. As of 2006, Werner had a
fleet of 9,000 trucks, of which 8,180 were owned by the company and 820 were
owned and operated by owner-operators (independent contractors). The main
types of freight transported by the company include retail store merchandise,
consumer products, manufactured products and grocery products. Werner
operates in two divisions: Truckload Transportation Services and Value Added
