Varian, Inc. VARI Varian, Inc. designs, develops, manufactures, markets, sells and
services scientific instruments (including related software, consumable
products, accessories and services) and vacuum products and related
accessories and services. Varian operates through two units : Scientific
Instruments and Vacuum Technologies. The Scientific Instruments unit designs,
develops, manufactures, markets, sells and services analytical instruments
(mostly mass spectrometers, chromatography instruments, optical spectroscopy
instruments and dissolution testing equipment), magnetic resonance systems,
including nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy systems, MR imaging systems
and consumable products, including columns for gas and liquid chromatography.
The Vacuum Technologies unit designs, develops, manufactures, markets, and
sells and services helium mass spectrometry and helium-sensing leak detection
instruments used to identify and measure leaks in hermetic or vacuum
