SCHW The Charles Schwab Corporation engages, through its subsidiaries, in securities brokerage, banking and related financial services. Schwab provides financial services to individuals and institutional clients through three business units: Individual Investor, Institutional Investor and U.S. Trust. The Individual Investor unit includes CSC's retail brokerage and banking operations. The Institutional Investor unit provides custodial, trading and support services to independent investment advisors, serves company 401(k) plan sponsors and third-party administrators, and supports company stock option plans. The U.S. Trust unit provides investment, wealth management, custody, fiduciary and private banking services to individual and institutional clients. In October 2004, Charles Schwab Corporation sold its capital markets business, consisting of the partnership interests of Schwab Capital Markets L.P. and all of the outstanding capital stock of SoundView Technology Group, Inc.
