RHAT Red Hat, Inc. provides enterprise operating systems and related software and services based on open source technology for large enterprises. Red Hat operates in two divisions: enterprise and embedded. The enterprise division mainly relates to the sale of Red Hat software subscriptions or support services subscriptions for enterprise customers using Red Hat software. Red Hat enterprise products are infrastructure technologies, and the Company's enterprise services are supplied in support of the enterprise software it distributes. Red Hat's embedded division was created in January 2000, when the Company merged with Cygnus Solutions, Inc.
