supplier of scientific instruments, products and services to the
pharmaceutical, biomedical, environmental testing and general industrial
markets, commonly referred to as the health sciences and industrial sciences
industries. PerkinElmer designs, manufactures, markets and services products
and systems within three business units: Life and Analytical Sciences,
Optoelectronics and Fluid Sciences. The health sciences markets include all
of the businesses in PerkinElmer's Life and Analytical Sciences reporting unit
and the medical imaging, elements of the medical sensors and lighting
businesses in its Optoelectronics reporting unit. The industrial sciences
markets include the remaining businesses in PerkinElmer's Optoelectronics
reporting unit and all of the businesses in its Fluid Sciences reporting
