Noble Energy is an independent energy company engaged in the exploration, development, production and marketing of crude oil and natural gas. Exploration includes geophysical and geological evaluation and exploratory drilling on properties, for which the they have exploration rights. Noble operates throughout major basins in the United States, including Colorado’s Wattenberg field, the Mid-continent region of western Oklahoma and the Texas Panhandle, the San Juan Basin in New Mexico, the Gulf Coast and the Gulf of Mexico. It also operates internationally, in West Africa, Ecuador, the Mediterranean Sea, the North Sea, China, Argentina and Suriname. As of December 2006, Noble Energy had estimated proved reserves of 3.2 trillion cubic feet of natural gas and 296 million barrels of crude oil. On a combined basis, these proved reserves were equivalent to 835 million barrels oil equivalent of which 55% were located in the United States and 45% were located internationally.
