Lyondell Chemical Company LYO Lyondell Chemical Company is a worldwide manufacturer
of chemicals and plastics, a refiner of heavy, high sulfur crude oil and a
producer of fuel products. Lyondell’s operations mainly
comprise four businessunits: the ethylene, co-products and derivatives unit, the propylene oxide and
related products unit, the refining unit and the inorganic chemicals unit. Lyondell’s ethylene, co-products
and derivatives businesses are conducted through its wholly owned subsidiaries
Equistar Chemicals, LP and Millennium Chemicals Inc.. Lyondell’s refining
business is conducted through Houston Refining LP. In August 2006, Lyondell acquired CITGO
Petroleum Corporation’s 41.25% interest in LYONDELL-CITGO
Refining LP, the company’s joint venture with CITGO.
