Lamar Advertising Company is an outdoor advertising company. At the end of 2004, Lamar owned and operated over 150,000 billboard advertising displays in 43 states, operated over 95,000 logo advertising displays in 20 states and the province of Ontario, Canada, and operated approximately 9,900 transit advertising displays in 12 states. The three areas that make up the Lamar's business are billboard advertising, logo signs and transit advertising. Lamar satisfies all the billboard display requirements of customers from ad copy production to placement and maintenance. Lamar's billboard advertising displays compose bulletins and posters. Lamar supplies logo sign services in the United States, operating 20 of the 25 privatized state logo sign contracts. Lamar provides transit advertising in 34 transit business areas. Transit displays appear on the exterior or interior of public transportation vehicles or stations.
