is the largest distributor of natural gas in the Northeast with 2.6 million
customers and more than 13,000 employees. KeySpan is also the largest
investor owned electric generator in New York State.
KeySpan owns 6,650 MegaWatts (MW) of generating capacity which provides power
to 1.1 million customers on Long Island and supplies 25% of New York City's capacity needs.
With headquarters in Brooklyn, Boston and Long Island, KeySpan also manages a dynamic portfolio
of service companies and strategic investments in natural gas exploration,
production, pipeline transportation, distribution, storage and Canadian gas
processing. KeySpan pays an annual dividend of $1.82 per share.
KeySpan has a solid Gas Distribution business, with approximately 2.6 million
gas customers in New York City, Long Island
and New England. Our gas utilities are the
income drivers of the company. We intend to capitalize on the tremendous
growth potential of these markets.
KeySpan provides Electric Service to 1.1 million Long Island Power Authority
(LIPA) customers. We own and operate approximately 6,650 MegaWatts (MW) of
generating capacity which serve the capacity tight New
York City and Long Island
markets. KeySpan's new 250 MW plant at Ravenswood went into commercial
operation during the second quarter of 2004.
KeySpan's Energy Services business provides a full array of energy products
and services in the lucrative Northeast market.
Our Energy Investments sector includes investments in natural gas pipelines,
storage and LNG. These investments utilize our gas and electric core
competencies. We also have minority investments in exploration and production
as well as gas processing operations.
We are financially solid with a $6+ billion 'market cap; approximately 4.5%
dividend yield, and a strong balance sheet.
