KB Home is a U.S. homebuilder. KB Home offers
a selection of homes that are designed to appeal to a variety of buyers,
including first-time and move-up homebuyers, as well as luxury and active
adult buyers. Domestically, it has a geographically diverse homebuilding
business, which as of November 30, 2005, operated in four regions comprising
14 states serving 39 markets. It has a subsidiary, Kaufman & Broad S.A.,
which is a homebuilder in France.
During the fiscal year ended November 2005, KB Home delivered 37,140 homes in
541 communities. KB Home operates in two business units: construction and
financial services. Its construction unit consists primarily of homebuilding
operations in the United States
and France.
KB Home's financial services unit provides mortgage banking services to its
domestic homebuyers through Countrywide KB Home Loans, a joint venture with
Countrywide Financial Corporation.
