HOT Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. is a hotel and leisure company that conducts operations in 80 countries. Starwood is represented globally through six brand names: St. Regis, Sheraton, The Luxury Collection, Westin, W and Four Points by Sheraton. The company’s operations are grouped into two business units: hotels and vacation ownership operations. Starwood's revenue and earnings mainly come from hotel operations, which include the operation of its own hotels, management and other fees earned from hotels it manages, and the receipt of franchise and other fees. The hotel business included 733 owned, managed or franchised hotels with approximately 231,000 rooms at the end of 2004. Starwood develops, owns and operates 19 vacation ownership resort proerties.
