Advanced Medical Optics, Inc.
EYE Advanced Medical Optics, Inc. is involved in the development,
manufacture and marketing of medical devices for the eye. Advanced Medical
Optics has three product lines: cataract /implant, laser vision correction,
and eye care. In the cataract and implant market, the company focuses on the
four products needed for cataract surgery: foldable intraocular lenses,
implantation systems, phacoemulsification systems and viscoelastics. In the
laser vision correction market, it markets laser systems, diagnostic devices,
treatment cards and microkeratomes. AMO's eye care product line provides a
range of contact lens care products for use with contact lenses. In January
2007, Advanced Medical Optics acquired WaveFront Sciences, Inc., a provider
of wavefront diagnostic systems for refractive surgery and medical research.
In April 2007, Advanced Medical Optics completed the acquisition of IntraLase
