Equitable Resources,
Inc. EQT Equitable Resources, Inc. is an integrated energy company, with
an emphasis on Appalachian area natural gas supply activities, including
production and gathering, and natural gas distribution and transmission. Equitable
Resources and its subsidiaries offer energy (natural gas, and a limited
amount of natural gas liquids and crude oil) products and services to
wholesale and retail customers through two business units: Equitable
Utilities and Equitable Supply. In December 2005, Equitable Resources discontinued
and sold the operations of its NORESCO unit, which provided energy efficiency
solutions to customers, including governmental, military, institutional,
