DPL Inc. DPL DPL Inc. is a regional electric energy and
utility company, and through its principal subsidiary, The Dayton Power and
Light Company is mainly engaged in the generation,
transmission and distribution of electricity in West Central Ohio. DP&L provides transmission and wholesale electric
service to 12 municipal customers in its service territory, which in turn
distribute electricity within their incorporated limits. The company’s other subsidiaries
include DPL Energy, LLC,
which engages in the operation of peaking generating facilities; DPL Energy Resources, Inc., which sells retail electric
energy under contract to major industrial and commercial customers in West
Central Ohio; MVE, Inc., which was mostly responsible
for the management of DPL’s financial asset
portfolio, and Miami Valley Insurance Company, which is the captive insurance
company that provides insurance sources to DPL and
