Dick's Sporting Goods, Inc. is a full-line sporting goods retailer that offering assorted brand name sporting goods equipment, apparel and footwear in a specialty store setting. In February 2007, it operated 294 stores, with approximately 16.7 million square feet, in 34 states, the majority of which were located mainly throughout the eastern half of the United States. Dick’s carries a variety of brands, including Nike, North Face, Adidas, Columbia, Callaway and Under Armour, as well as private-label products sold under names, such as Ativa and Walter Hagen, which are available only in its stores. All of Dick’s stores also provide support services, such as golf club grip replacement, bicycle repair and maintenance, and home delivery and assembly of fitness equipment.
