Charles River provides the animal research models required in research and development for drugs, devices and therapies. Charles River's customer base includes global pharmaceutical companies, a variety of biotechnology companies, as well as government agencies, hospitals and academic institutions worldwide. Charles River operates over 80 facilities, including its production and warehousing facilities, in 15 countries worldwide. Charles River Labs has two reporting units: Research Models and Services and Preclinical Services, which includes Phase I clinical services.
