COF Capital One Financial Corporation is a bank holding company whose subsidiaries market a selection of consumer financial products and services. Capital One’s main subsidiaries are Capital One Bank, which offers credit card products and takes retail deposits, Capital One, F.S.B., which offers consumer and commercial lending and consumer deposit products, and Capital One Auto Finance, Inc., which offers automobile and other motor vehicle financing products. Capital One Financial's prime business units are domestic credit card lending, automobile and other motor vehicle financing, and global financial services. During the year ended December 2004, Capital One Financial entered into a definitive agreement to acquire a mortgage lending business, eSmartloan, and an insurance brokerage business, InsLogic. Both acquisitions closed in early 2005. In January 2005, Capital One acquired Onyx Acceptance Corporation. In January 2005, the company also completed its acquisition of Hfs Group.
