Boyd Gaming Corporation is a gaming company that wholly owns and operates 16 casino facilities, which are located in eight gaming markets in five states in the United States. In December, 2006, the company owned approximately 850,000 square feet of casino space, containing approximately 23,500 slot machines, 500 table games and 7,500 hotel rooms. In March, 2007, Boyd Gaming Corporation completed the acquisition of Dania Jai Alai and approximately 47 acres of related land located in Dania Beach, Florida. In February 2007, Boyd completed its exchange transaction with Harrah's Operating Company, Inc., a subsidiary of Harrah's Entertainment, Inc. whereby Boyd exchanged its Barbary Coast Hotel and Casino and its related 4.2 acres of land for approximately 24 acres located north of and contiguous to its Echelon Place development project on the Las Vegas Strip.
