BJ's Wholesale Club, Inc. is a warehouse club operator in the
eastern United States.
As of February, 2007, BJ’s operated 172 warehouse clubs in 16 states, 96 of
which operated gasoline stations. BJ's revenues come from the sale of a range
of food and general merchandise items, the sale of gasoline and from
membership fees. During the fiscal year ended February 3, 2007, food
accounted for approximately 60% of the company’s total food and general
merchandise sales. Food categories at BJ’s include frozen foods, beverages,
fresh meat and dairy products, dry grocery items, fresh produce and flowers,
canned goods and household paper products. General merchandise includes
consumer electronics, pre-recorded media, tires, jewelry, health and beauty
aids, household needs, computer software, books, apparel, furniture, toys and
seasonal items.
