Alliant Techsystems Inc. is a supplier of aerospace and defense
products to the United States Government, United States allies, and major prime
contractors. The company is also a supplier of ammunition to federal and
local law enforcement agencies and commercial markets. As of March, 2006, ATK
had five business units: Ammunition, ATK Thiokol, Precision Systems, Advanced
Propulsion and Space Systems, and ATK Mission Research. The Ammunition unit
supplies military ammunition and other products. The ATK Thiokol unit is a
solid propellant rocket motor manufacturer. The Precision Systems unit
develops, demonstrates and manufactures ammunition, fuzes and proximity
sensors, and others. The Advanced Propulsion and Space Systems segment
supplies propulsion solutions for missile defense, space, strategic, tactical
and other commercial application. The ATK Mission Research unit is a
developer of technologies that address security and homeland defense
requirements.
