Alcoa
AA Alcoa Inc. is a
producer of primary aluminum, fabricated aluminum and alumina that is engaged
in the mining, refining, smelting, fabricating, and recycling. Aluminum and
alumina represent roughly 75% of Alcoa's revenues,
and the price of aluminum influences the operating results. Nonaluminum products include precision castings,
industrial fasteners, consumer products, vinyl siding, food service and
flexible packaging products, plastic closures, and electrical distribution
systems for cars and trucks. The company's products are used globally in
aircraft, automobiles, commercial transportation, consumer products,
packaging, building and construction, and industrial applications. Alcoa's operations consist of six worldwide units:
Alumina, Primary Metals, Flat-Rolled Products, Extruded and End Products, Engineered
Solutions and Packaging and Consumer. In October 2006, Alcoa
